| The Video Butler Network Interactive (VBNi)
is a Horton &
Associates proprietary program to offer an interface to the PDI P15x
touchscreen LCD hospital-grade television. This interface
takes control of the TV's built-in computer, and allows the patients
access to the Internet, games and standard television channels.
This software is installed locally, on each P15x. It can be
configured individually, or from a central computer. We can
even load your educational videos onto the systems' hard drive for
on-demand playback at any time. It has a password-protected
Administration page (accessed by on on-screen key code) to configure
the systems whitelist/blacklist, the startup TV channel, and a list
of Favorites for use by the patient. This computer is set up
so that a patient has no chance of altering the systems'
configuration, or getting any viruses loaded onto the system.
When the TV is powered back on, the embedded Windows XP software
returns to a clean state, ready for the next patient.
